How does the human mind work?  While we are only beginning to gather deep insights into this timeless question, I did stumble across two fantastic reads in the weekend newspapers that I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

• Human Nature’s Pathologist. Harvard’s Stephen Pinker shares his latest insight on the trend toward decreasing violence in the world.  Along the way, you receive a nice summary of his earlier work on language and psychiatry.
• What Makes a Rogue Trader?  The FT explores the mind of those high risk gamblers who have done so much damage to some of the biggest names in finance.
